In February 2017, Community Growth expanded the project by giving children the opportunity to attend school. As the garden started to become self-sustaining, we began funding school fees.
School is a luxury
for children here – children in these communities love school, and see it as an opportunity to learn basic skills and provides an immense amount of hope.
The Community Growth school sponsorship program partners with a local village school (St Andrews) to send several children into class. These numbers vary, depending on the level the children are in, and the families currently in the community. We’ve had as many as 80 children attending class because of our sponsors!
